Prosser Lab - Postdoctoral Research Position
Scott Prosser's lab is seeking PhD students or postdoctoral fellows who are interested in NMR and smFRET, as well as familiar with cell and molecular biology, transfections, PCR work, protein expression and reconstitution. Experience in yeast and/or insect cells/mammalian cells beyond E. coli is preferred.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Molecular Biologist to join our growing team. You will be responsible for carrying out daily laboratory operations such as media and buffer preparation and running gels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, protein engineering or a related field.

Required Skills:
Excellent organizational skills
Strong wet lab skills (e.g. PCR, Cloning, Protein Expression)
Responsibilities:
Buffer and media preparation
PCR amplification
Protein expression and purification
Running gels and western blots
Conducting molecular biology research as required by the company and assisting with reagent production and distribution
Ensuring that the biological components shipped to customers and collaborators exceed expectations and delight our users
Conducting labelling, shipping and ordering as required by the company
Assuming responsibility for lab duties (e.g. autoclaving, media, plate and stock preparations) as defined by the company
Maintaining detailed lab notebooks and other documentation relating to the lab
Maintenance of a safe and clean lab as well as disposal of chemical and biological waste
Organizing and maintaining inventory
Other duties as may be required from time to time by the company.

We are looking for dynamic and motivated 4th year undergraduate or graduate students in Life Sciences, and/or the Rotman School of Management who can demonstrate both knowledge of the life sciences, as well as experience that has promoted their business thinking and entrepreneurship skills. PRiME brings together investigators and trainees from across divisions and faculties with a focus on life sciences. Key to this is effective and engaging communications channels, as well as events and programs that support connection and the development of collaboration. We are looking for undergraduate or graduate students with an interest in the knowledge mobilization of science, and in developing and facilitating events and workshops that promote connections and collaborations. Students will learn to develop and implement communications plans that reach across a range of channels to engage broad and targeted audiences, as well as to plan and facilitate events that promote connections and collaborations.
Associates will work closely with the PRiME team, gaining experience in the following activities:
- Develop and implement communications plans for PRiME programs
- Develop materials, visuals and language that will be used to promote PRiME programs
- Support the design and planning of PRiME networking and collaboration events
- Facilitate and organize PRiME networking and collaboration events
